What will my NET look like?
The NET is your ticket to pursuing education at NUST. Naturally, every student wants to put in their 100% to ensure they perform well in the NET and cross the line. We thought we’d share some useful information so you have a fair idea of what to expect on the test.
Knowing what you will be tested on
Cramming a lot of information from books of all subjects is not necessarily the best approach to doing well in the NET. Prepare what is important and what you will be tested on. It is always important to use a smart approach rather than an unstructured approach. It helps you avoid panic.
Listed below are the subjects that will appear on your test based on the degree you are applying for and their respective number of MCQs from each subject (in accordance with what NUST has mentioned on the website).

Knowing how you will be tested
Every student will need to answer 200 MCQs within a time duration of 3 hours. Each MCQ will have 4 options. There is no negative marking so it is good to make educated guesses. An intelligence portion will be included on all tests. As per the official website of NUST, the intelligence portion will include: Arithmetical Reasoning, Critical Thinking, Analytical Approach and Problem Solving.
How will the test appear on my computer screen (for computerized test)
It is good to familiarize yourself with what your screen will look like once the test begins. Here is the sample screen to give you a good idea of the format.

What do I need to bring with me for the test?
As per the NUST website:
“While applying for admission, possession of Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) / Form 'B' or NICOP is mandatory. Online registration system does not require attachment of documents / credentials. However, the same will be required for verification during selection and admission process of selected candidates.”
